Accommodation
Offering some of the world’s most spacious and exclusive accommodation, our 123 luxurious villas, colonial suites, and signature residences have been locally handcrafted in keeping with traditional Lanna architecture, and feature extensive museum-quality artefacts and antiques. The villas open onto spacious open terraces, some of which feature private plunge pools or swimming pools. Villas
Villas are authentic Northern Thai rice houses made out of teak wood. Each one is unique and has been converted to offer a luxurious blend of modern and traditional style accommodation.
The villas feature two floors with ample living space on the ground floor and resting space upstairs. Common features include a whirlpool tub, separate shower stall, outdoor deck or terrace and a Thai Sala (pavilion).
Colonial Suites
All these suites are located in the north-west area of the resort with tropical garden views in close proximity to the main hotel swimming pool, main lobby and all-day dining area. The suites are in a beautiful colonial style two-storey building. First floor suites boast spacious balconies, while ground floor suites enjoy direct access onto the lush gardens. Decorated in a charming colonial style, each suite features a bedroom and separate adjoining living room, as well as a large private veranda. The five-metre high ceiling enhances the guest’s sense of open space and palatial living.
Signature Residences
Penthouse Residence
The concept and design of this suite is inspired by the ancient palaces with an air of colonial elegance. The unique feature is that the Penthouse Residence offers its own private spa comprising a spa treatment room and an indoor/outdoor massage areas where guests can enjoy exclusive spa services in the privacy of their suite. Additional features include a king-sized bedroom, living room and a dining room with a pantry.
The Royal Residence
A stay in the Royal Residence is an experience of a lifetime. Located in a self-contained area, the Royal Residence is a small ‘private retreat’ and is ideal for guests who seek exclusivity and privacy. It comprises six bedrooms, three with a king bed and three with twin beds. The ancient palace style architecture epitomises a grandeur and opulence of a bygone age, whilst every modern convenience and facilities have been incorporated into the unit - spacious bathrooms, generous living room space, large dining room and pantry, all connected by a walkway. Three private pools and three Jacuzzis complete the picture of ultimate luxury.
Meeting Facilities
The resort has a range of facilities that cater to a variety of meetings and events. The Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 500 guests, while the popular ceremonial lawn (Khuang Khong Khao) provides the perfect outdoor venue in the heart of the resort. The Lawn can comfortably accommodate a thousand guests. Equipment and meeting support facilities include: LCD projectors with screen, overhead projectors, high-speed internet access, IDD lines, fax machines, photocopiers etc.
Restaurants & Bars
Le Grand Lanna (Thai cuisine)
Speciality Thai restaurant with seating for 180. Cuisine is from both Northern and Central Thailand. Le Grand Lanna is set in a cluster of traditional Lanna style buildings. A Thai Classical Dance Show entertains guests nightly. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner.
Fujian (Chinese cuisine)
Chinese restaurant serving Imperial Chinese cuisine in an elegant two-storey Sino-Portuguese style mansion. Outdoor seating is available. Lunch is Cantonese and Dim Sum and dinner features contemporary dishes and a degustation menu. The restaurant seats 73 guests.
Farang Ses (French cuisine)
This opulent French restaurant serves Provençal cuisine featuring the fresh and aromatic flavours of the French countryside. Located next to the spa reception area overlooking rice paddy fields with live piano music each evening. Farang Ses is open for dinner only.
Rice Terrace
Serving a healthy spa breakfast and transforming into a bar in the evening, The Rice Terrace is located below the spa reception area facing the rice paddy fields. It can accommodate 54 guests.
Loy Kham Bar (Pool Bar) - Snacks & Beverages
Located at the Loy Kham Pool area, the Loy Kham Bar serves snacks and beverages around the poolside.
Akaligo (Mediterranean & Italian cuisine)
The restaurant offers buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner, and is situated next to the main lobby. Terrace seating is also available.
Horn Bar
Located off the main lobby and open every evening from 6 pm to midnight, The Horn Bar serves cocktails and fine wines. The interior of the bar features masks from different regions of Myanmar, depicting mythological characters.
Oriental Shop
Located in the Kad Dhara shopping village, The Oriental Shop sells homemade products and serves cakes, coffees, teas and juices.

The Dheva Spa and Wellness Centre
Spread out over 3,100 square metres, the Dheva Spa and Wellness Centre is a destination in itself. Modelled on a Mandalay Palace setting from Myanmar, this cluster of teak buildings features a seven-tiered roof, symbolic of reaching the heavens. Within the spacious 18 treatment rooms and suites, each guest is treated like royalty where a wide range of therapeutic treatments based upon local and ancient healing techniques are available.
The Spa features signature ceremonies adapted from traditional practices from Northern Thai, Burmese and Indian cultures. Key treatments include The Royal Thai Ceremony, Lanna Ceremony, Mandalay Ceremony and Indian Ceremony. There is also a full range of aromatherapy treatments. Other treatments include Reflexology, a Hamman and Authentic South East Asian Scrubs, a Rhassoul with Thai Herbal Mud, Watsu Therapy, Facials and Hand and Foot treatments.
Health and Fitness Centre
A state-of-the-art fitness centre providing facilities for both private and group tuition in popular and alternative forms of fitness and well-being. The centre is complemented by two outdoor tennis courts.
Cultural Centre
Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi is the only resort in Chiang Mai that offers guests a regular daily programme for arts and crafts demonstration – basket making, bamboo weaving, rice pounding, paper cutting and flower arranging. Guests can either watch or participate. The Cultural Centre also plans to host lectures by local and foreign experts on a wide range of topics related to Southeast Asian Culture, artisan and craft demonstration.
Jum Sri Hall Library
This world-class library houses several thousand volumes of books, journals and periodicals related to the region’s art, culture, cuisine and traditions. There is also a wide variety of books related to cooking, nature, health and fitness, yoga, and meditation. In addition, there is a large selection of children’s books and a collection of DVD’s and CD’s. All of these are available for complimentary use by hotel guests.
Amphitheatre
The unique brick amphitheatre, surrounded by a moat and towering trees provides an enchanting venue for enjoying private outdoor music and dance performances.
Lanna Kids Club
The Lanna Kids Club is located in a one-hundred-year-old northern Thai house offering lessons on Thai dancing and music, arts and crafts, as well as traditional Thai games and toys. Children can also experience rice planting, yoga for kids, paper making and umbrella painting.
Kad Dhara Shopping Village
The Shopping Village is located just inside the gate of the resort. It is a small village built in the local northern Thai style of the past, with a series of shuttered wooden shop-houses. This unique place is home to a number of specialty shops and upscale designer boutiques as well as a coffee corner and the resort’s own stylish Chinese Restaurant. A stroll through the village provides the resort’s guests with a unique and hassle-free shopping experience.
Weather
The best months to visit Chiang Mai are between October and April. The cool season is from late October until the end of February with average temperature range from 12°C to 28°C (53.6ºF to 82.4ºF). March to May is quite warm with average temperatures between 22°C and 35°C (71.6ºF to 95ºF). From June to September, the weather is relatively warm and humid with tropical showers in late afternoon while overnight temperatures range from 22°C to 32°C (71.6ºF to 89.6ºF).
Airport
Chiang Mai International Airport is located 15 minutes away and has direct flight connections to all countries in the region including China, Kunming, Luang Prabang, Vientiane, Myanmar, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Shopping
Chiang Mai is Thailand’s major centre for quality handicrafts. There are a lot of shopping areas for visitors such as Sankampaeng, located close to the resort, is the most well-known district for cottage industries, parasols, silk and cotton weaving, jewellery, woodcarving, silverware, celadon, and lacquer ware. Here, guests can also enjoy watching the demonstrations and the artisans at work. Baan Tawai in Hang Dong district located towards the southern part of the city is famous for woodcarving and basket weaving. While in the heart of the city is The Night Bazaar, which is a shopping street where a variety of handmade products and souvenirs from the villages can be found.
Natural Attractions
Chiang Mai is the principal northern city of Thailand and is a good base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. This mountainous region is home to Thailand's many colourful hill-tribe people, and trekking and river rafting enable adventurous exploration of this beautiful area. Natural attractions such as Doi Inthanon National Park, orchid farms, waterfalls, natural caves and elephant camp are also worth visiting.
Historical and Religious Destinations
Chiang Mai was the capital of the historical Lanna Thai (Kingdom of One Million Rice Fields), which is the first independent Thai kingdom within the fabled Golden Triangle. There are many sites and locations where tourists like to visit such as Chiang Mai’s visible landmark Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Phra Singha, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Suan Dok, Wat Chiang Man, Wat U-Mong, Chiang Mai National Museum and Wiang Kum Kam.
