After its grand opening in September 1963, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong quickly became recognized as one of the world’s most legendary hotels – a position it maintains to this day. The concept was to create a hotel firmly rooted in Eastern Culture, providing gracious service to a standard generally only experienced in Asia. It is this heritage, this sense of being part of Hong Kong’s history that draws guests back, time and again.
The hotel's 502 guestrooms and suites, all of which are individually furnished and decorated in exquisite materials and handcrafted finishes, feature the very latest guest-orientated technology. With views of Victoria harbour and the surrounding cityscape, each of the rooms and suites are lovingly dressed with pure linen bed sheets, goose-down pillows, designer bathroom products and have outstanding facilities including an interactive entertainment system, SMART lighting controls and wi-fi high speed internet access.
The hotel offers ten highly individual bars and restaurants, including greats such as Michelin-starred Pierre, which introduces the cuisine of renowned Pierre Gagnaire to Hong Kong.
Functions from 12 to 600 can be catered for in its luxurious function space, where many of the rooms offer glorious views over the harbour. Dedicated event planners can tailor-make these events, providing flexible and innovative ideas to suit guest needs.
Honouring the hotel’s Chinese heritage and original design, Mandarin Oriental’s all-encompassing Mandarin Spa offers holistic rejuvenation and relaxation in a tranquil, meditative setting. Set in 2,100 sq m, the Mandarin Spa is positioned over three floors and incorporates an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, holistic Spa, Mandarin Salon and Mandarin Barber.
The Group has 100% ownership of the hotel and the General Manager is Mr Peter French.
