Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong – Rooms & Suites

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is home to 430 oversized guestrooms and 71 suites, each of which has been individually furnished and decorated to embrace the hotel’s Oriental heritage, while being combined with a fresh, contemporary feel to offer harmony and serenity.

Attention has been paid to even the smallest detail that makes a difference, from exquisite materials to hand-crafted finishes, creating the level of refined luxury that guests of this iconic property have come to expect.
With views of Victoria Harbour and the surrounding cityscape, each of the rooms and suites is lovingly dressed with pure linen bed sheets, a pillow menu that includes goose-down versions, and designer bathroom products by Hermes and Acqua Di Parma.  All also have outstanding facilities that include two telephone lines, an interactive entertainment system, SMART lighting controls, DVD players, an in-room safe, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access and a personal bar.  In true Mandarin Oriental style, added details that make a subtle difference are offered, from an innovative pass-through valet box to a specially created stationery kit.  Binoculars and multi-lingual butlers, and even 24-hour technology butlers are also available.

Guest rooms – but not suites – are decorated in two distinct design styles: Taipan or Verandah.  The Taipan style guest room is a symphony of gentle brown and tangerine tones with a spacious seating area and work desk by the floor-to-ceiling windows. The spacious bathrooms are dark wood and Chinese Black Forest marble.  Verandah style rooms have a black and white marble, open-plan bathroom with blinds that can be closed for privacy.  The bedroom, decorated in shades of light blue and cream is paneled in walnut with a seating area with day bed and work desk that can be curtained off from the bedroom area.  Apart from the décor, facilities and amenities in both room styles are the same.

Signature Suites – Lichfield, Howarth and Meiji
None of the hotel’s signature suites are alike, with each one lovingly created to reflect a true sense of place, and most offering breathtaking views over Victoria Harbour.  Our three signature suites are elegant city residences exhibiting our private collection of fine art and antiques. Each has the services of a floor butler.

The Lichfield Suite
The most striking of the collection is the Lichfield suite, dedicated to the memory of Patrick Lichfield, the esteemed photographer who was a regular guest of the hotel and the photographer behind the Group’s award-winning ‘He’s / She’s a Fan’ advertising campaign. The interior designs for this suite are by Nicky Haslam, who pays homage to Lord Lichfield’s eclectic style and celebrated life by incorporating Lichfield’s personal mementos and framed photographs in the suite.
Size: 72 square metres / 775 square feet.

The Howarth Suite
This handsome suite has a traditional English influence in furnishing and design. Navy blues, velvet fabrics, mahogany and walnut woods, culminate in an understated elegance.
Size: 80 square metres / 861 square feet.

The Meiji Suite
The Meiji suite reflects its Japanese heritage.  The design alludes to all the acute finesse associated with the traditions of Japanese hospitality. Pale maple furniture is accented in black lacquer, the carpets weave echoes tatami matting and selected pieces of Japanese artwork decorate the walls. The overall effect is light and tranquil.
Size: 80 square metres / 861 square feet.

Deluxe Signature Suites – Tamar and Macau
Two of the grandest suites, the Macau and the Tamar, are at the top of the hotel with commanding views of Hong Kong.

The Tamar Suite
The Tamar Suite is named after the former British Naval headquarters, which Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong used to overlook. The style reflects some fine nautical details alluding to the luxuries of a private yacht, with timber panelling and metals.
Size: 93 square metres / 1001 square feet.

The Macau Suite
You enter the Macau Suite through double doors that reveal a domed entrance hall and continue through rooms inspired by a Portuguese colonial home. The Macanese were the true inventors of the East meets West look, this is synthesised in the rooms style. Our Macau Suite has long been a favourite of loyal guests.
Size: 115 square metres / 1238 square feet.

The Mandarin Suite
The presidential Mandarin Suite is a magnificent 292 square meter space. With double height ceilings and walls of glass in the living room and a balcony that runs the length, the boundaries seem to melt into the skyline.
