New Rooms and Suites

Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta which re-opened in October 2009, offers 272 beautifully appointed rooms, including 56 oversized Mandarin Rooms and six suites. All rooms have been upgraded and enlarged to the highest standard of luxury, reflecting the Group’s positioning and oriental heritage.

Elegant décor by interior design firm Lim Teo and Wilkes, inspired by Asian and Indonesian culture, gives a classic yet contemporary feel, with special touches and attention to detail.

Designed to provide a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, the accommodation reflects the hotel’s signature Southeast Asian style and modern simplicity, with two distinct themes.

A bold Indochine inspired print imparts poetic grandeur to the Chinoiserie-themed rooms. The warm palette provides a backdrop for modern Chinese artwork pieces in the living area as well as bedside tables that feature handles inspired by Indonesian tribal jewelry. In a subtle contrast, the other theme reflects a refined yet modern colonial style. The use of natural-coloured textured wallpaper and classic details in the fixed dark-wood furnishings provides a simple yet elegant setting. Generously sized, all the rooms offer guests a comfortable lounge area, large working table, ample closet space and luxurious bathrooms that come with generous vanities.

Amenities have been specially designed to enhance guests’ comfort, with all guestrooms equipped with high quality plush linen and comforters, goose-down pillows, and 480 thread count linen.

Each of the guestrooms is equipped with Mandarin Oriental’s guest-centric technology; including personal computer and iPod connectivity, 42” LCD television, multi-function technology ports, surround sound system, wireless and high-speed broadband internet access, mood-control lighting and Inncom room management system. The rooms also have spacious bathrooms which have been ingeniously designed to allow for natural daylight and a soothing rain shower system.

The Suites

The Chinoiserie-themed suites have been designed using a soft colour palette with a liberal use of earthy tones and embellished with oriental accents in gold and plum. All rooms are furnished with a mix of modern and classic European pieces with signature clean lines.

The exclusive Mandarin Suite is a true sanctuary, equipped with every conceivable comfort, from embroidered Frette linen to crystal-cut glass decanters.
