KUALA LUMPUR, August 2011 – Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur has added to its list of award winning restaurants, with Mosaic, a new all day dining venue. Designed by the creative Japanese design company, Spin Design Studio, Mosaic is a distinctive, lively and imaginative venue.
Overlooking the lush greenery of the KLCC Park, Mosaic boasts an elegant interior reflecting the Peranakan culture with elaborate finishings. Vibrant customized flooring, intricate hanging pewter lights, bespoke mosaic walls and columns complete with cleverly located live cooking stations make up for a truly interactive dining experience.
“The design concept of Mosaic beautifully illustrates Mandarin Oriental’s desire to ensure a sense of place. This is a venue where local history, culture and sensibility have been assimilated into the design,” said Pierre Barthes, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. “With a wide range of cuisine served in an imaginative way, we anticipate Mosaic will become a dining destination of choice in Kuala Lumpur,” he continued.
Positioned as the leading all day dining restaurant in the city, Mosaic features a vibrant mix of local and international cuisine, complemented with interactive live cooking stations including grill, wok, noodle and tandoor, plus a large dessert bar. In addition, the restaurant features two semi private dining rooms, making this the ideal venue for family get-togethers, business or entertainment lunches and celebrations.
Food is presented in cast iron pans, woks, copper pots or served in individual portions. Fans of Indian cuisine can enjoy Tandoori chicken, lamb, prawn with naan and other North Indian specialties. Sushi, sashimi and authentic Japanese dishes are also available, together with Chinese dim sum baskets and fragrant stir-fries, while authentic barbecue seafood can be found at the Malay open kitchen. The dessert bar offers an array of sweet delights to tempt the palate.
Headed by Chef Raymond Abour Jeily, Chef de Cuisine and Ms Jenna Park, Restaurant Manager, Mosaic is open 24 hours and serves buffet breakfast from 6.00am to 10.30am, lunch from 12pm to 2.30pm and dinner, 6.30pm to 10.30pm. The restaurant seats up to 148 diners. Lunch is priced at RM88++ per person while dinner is at RM108++ per person (Sunday to Thursday) and RM128++ per person (Friday and Saturday).
