Mr Anthony Costa joined The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong from Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong where he held the position of Resident Manager. Prior to coming to Hong Kong in the beginning of 2007, Anthony was the Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin. Having worked in the hospitality industry for more than 22 years Anthony has held a number of senior managerial roles including with Radisson SAS Group in Leeds and Helsinki as well as at Airth Castle, Scotland.
Anthony is married with two children. A British citizen originally from Glasgow, apart from English he also speaks moderate French and Greek. Anthony holds a BA in Hospitality Management.
Commenting on his appointment, Anthony said, “I feel privileged to be General Manager of the most contemporary luxury hotel in Hong Kong. I look forward to working with a truly dynamic team in one of the most vibrant cities of the world.” He continued, “I am confident that I can further strengthen the hotel’s position by continuing to provide unanticipated luxuries and highly individualised service for all guests.”
An avid collector of art, Anthony is fond of modern painting and Chinese antiques. He hopes to spend time exploring the local streets and antique markets in Hong Kong and Asia. “Based in Asia, I fully appreciate the attention to detail, efficiency and outstanding service level.”
The nature-loving GM also enjoys sports such as football and golf. As a health and fitness devotee, Anthony will no doubt encourage his guests to try the hotel’s award-winning 25,000-square feet Oriental Spa, which features a state-of-the art fitness centre, 18-metre indoor pool, yoga and Pilates studios, as well as the most comprehensive holistic spa facilities in Hong Kong.
Anthony will maintain a very hands-on management style, and he has the character and experience to build on The Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s reputation as one of the world’s best city hotels.
