The Oriental Spa features spaces for Zen tranquillity and holistic exercises, all of which provide the perfect environment to relax, rejuvenate and achieve a harmonious equilibrium of body, mind and spirit, with the further advantage of the facility being in one of the most central and convenient location in Hong Kong.
The 25,000-square foot award-winning spa occupies two floors of the hotel and offers a diverse array of holistic services, suitable for every guest. Working with world-renowned specialists such as Brazilian plastic surgeon Ivo Pitanguy, The Oriental Spa offers exclusive results-driven treatments and products as well as Mandarin Oriental Signature Spa Therapies. The Oriental Spa for Men allows male spa guests to relax and rejuvenate with exclusive men’s only treatments and products which cater to the different needs of men’s skin.
True to its origin, the word “spa” comes from the Latin term salud per aqua, or “health through the use of water”. Consequently, highlights of The Oriental Spa include vitality pools, amethyst crystal steam rooms, experience showers, Hamam steam and scrub room, Asia’s first Moroccan rasul, Roman laconium, herbal sauna, tropical rain sauna as well as 15 private deluxe treatment rooms, in addition to an indoor heated swimming pool and pilates and yoga studios. For couples, there is a 65-square metre ultra-deluxe Sanctuary Suite equipped with amethyst crystal steam shower, vitality tub, futon mattress for relaxing and flat-screen TV.
The comprehensive range of wellness facilities include fully equipped Pilates and Yoga studios and an indoor swimming pool. Fitness devotees can enjoy a hi-tech fitness centre with the latest cardiovascular and weight training equipment, including treadmills, step machines, cardio bikes, weight machines and free weights. Wellness programs encompassing Pilates, Yoga and personal training help guests to achieve a healthy and balanced lifestyle. There is also a poolside café and juice bar where guests can enjoy a healthy bite before and after their treatments or workouts.
Signature treatments include Time Rituals, massage, body, face therapy and hand and feet therapy. Designed to restore one’s natural state of equilibrium, the treatments feature natural ingredients and healing elements that have been extracted from ancient traditions.
Anthony Costa, General Manager of the hotel, is enthusiastic about The Oriental Spa’s own personal philosophy. “We want to transport guests into another world. Personalised treatments or ‘journeys’ are booked in blocks of time called Time Rituals. Our team of professionals has been trained not only in the finest ancient traditions of Chinese, European and Thai cultures, but also in delivering Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service standards so that we can offer to our guests the ultimate experience for body, mind and spirit.”
