Sightseeing

UNESCO World Heritage – Many of Macau’s most famous tourist spots were recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage sites in 2005, further attesting to their profound cultural and historical importance. Nearly all these treasures are just a short walking distance from Mandarin Oriental, Macau

Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre – The 338-metre high Macau Tower soars above the city skyline and offers magnificent panoramic views over Macau and much of the Pearl River Delta. The tower holds a cinema, exhibition hall, children’s playground, shops and restaurants. At the 216-metre point a Skywalk observation deck affords breathtaking views, and at 233 metres visitors can test their nerve by trying SkyJump.

Nam Van Lake Cybernetic Fountain – Spectacular shows of cascading water and light can be seen on Nam Van Lake opposite the Government of Macau SAR headquarters. The fountain is equipped with 86 spouts and is lit by 288 coloured spotlights. The tallest water jet reaches 80 meters in height. Laser and music performances are schedule all through the week.

Macau Science Centre – Designed by world-renowned Chinese-American architect IM Pei, the site is instantly recognisable by its silvery, cone-shaped exterior. All of the centre’s exhibits have been designed to give visitors entertaining yet educational insights into the fascinating world of science. Features include a planetarium offering high-definition 3D effects, a same-scale model of the Shenzhou-VII spaceship and a number of intelligent robots.

Connected directly to our hotel through a walkway to One Central Shopping Mall, guests can browse a superior collection of the top luxury brands in the world. This high class shopping mall is within a contemporary architectural landmark offering a completely up to the minute experience. 

Currency

The Macau Pataca is the main currency used, with the Hong Kong dollar and the Chinese yuan renminbi also widely accepted in the city. You can exchange currency at either a bank or private currency exchange. Exchange rates are subject to daily fluctuations and additional charges may apply.

Immigration

Visitors to Macau must possess a passport valid for at least six months upon arrival and proof of onward passage. Visa requirements are determined by nationality. Visas can be obtained from Immigration Services through embassies/consulates of the PRC and must be used within the indicated validity. Visas on arrival valid for a period of 30 days are also available in Macau at Immigration Services.
