The former Portuguese enclave is situated on the southeastern coast of China and only about 40 miles southwest from Hong Kong. There are 71 Club Floor Rooms on the top four floors of the hotel referred to as the Club Floors. These rooms are furnished in teakwood, individually decorated with exquisite patterned curtains and quilt covers, plush carpeting and pastel wall coverings while each bathroom offers a full range of amenities. To complement the Club Floors, a lounge is available on the 17th floor for express check-in and check-out of Club Floor guests, while serving complimentary American breakfast, snacks and evening cocktail throughout the day.
The 28 suites of the hotel are magnificently furbished with Iberian inspired fabrics and superb antique reproductions. All of them feature balconies, bars and separate guest cloakrooms. The two Presidential Suites, The Grand Macau Suite and The Grand Taipa Suite, are over 2,000 square feet (190 square metres) and offer a lounge with dining room, two bedrooms with bathrooms, a pantry and a cloakroom.
The hotel also offers a range of charmingly decorated restaurants and bar, which typify the various cuisine and cultures that make up this cosmopolitan territory. Tung Yee Heen Chinese Restaurant offers superb classic Cantonese cuisine with daily dim sum. NAAM Thai Restaurant features authentic Thai cuisine from every region in Thailand. The Veranda offers poolside al fresco dinning experience. Café Bela Vista is an all-day restaurant featuring many popular Asian dishes and international favourites with authentic Macanese and Portuguese specialities. The Cake Shop serves a wide range of homemade cakes, pastries, breads, rolls, sandwiches and chocolates. Vasco – a tranquil lounge and vibrant bar presents international and local tapa-style treats, exquisite afternoon teas, innovative champagne cocktails and a wide selection of wine-by-glass.
The hotel’s 15,000 square metres world class resort features an outdoor temperature-controlled swimming pool, garden whirlpool, tennis courts, squash court, fitness centre with aerobic studio, sauna, steam room, indoor Jacuzzi, The Spa, supervised children’s club – Kids Co and a 10-metre rock climbing tower. The Resort is open daily from 6am to 10pm and access is via covered walkway off the main lobby.
