Mandarin Oriental, Prague is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious and exclusive places to stay in Prague. Housed in a former monastery whose origins date back to the 14th century, the hotel is filled with carefully preserved artefacts and original architectural details. At every opportunity the splendour of the city has been framed; through arched windows along the wide corridors, through picture windows and from the large private terrace.
Each of the 99 rooms and suites has been individually furnished and decorated to embrace the best of the destination whilst adding a touch of Oriental flair. All guest rooms are extremely spacious and exquisitely furnished, with high ceilings, often either vaulted or arched. Natural woven rugs, polished stone, and original parquet floors highlight the history of the premises. The oversized bathrooms clad in polished limestone feature heated floors and are equipped with essential oils and balms. Contemporary Asian touches complete the experience, whilst silks and colourful throws cascade over the soft furnishings to produce a look of overall opulence.
In each room, the latest technology is discreetly concealed behind the exquisite handcrafted finishes, allowing guests to work in comfort or to make the most of in-room entertainment. Each guest room has two telephone lines with voicemail, high speed internet access (both wired and wireless), in-room safe, a personal bar and refrigerator, as well as two high-definition LCD televisions, one in the bathroom and another in the bedroom; suites feature a third set in their living rooms.
The hotel prides itself on three unique signature suites: The Oriental Suite, at 74 square metres, is located at the top of the former Renaissance chapel which houses the Spa. Its distinct character, curved walls meeting in a pointed arch, and slightly mysterious yet warm atmosphere make it perfect for romantic escapes. The elegant, aristocratic Lazar Suite in the historical Baroque building, at 91 square metres, is fit for rock stars or royalty, with three stylish rooms and a grand bathroom.
The 150 square-metre Presidential Penthouse Suite is located in a fifth floor penthouse and enjoys commanding views of the entire city. The most prestigious suite in the hotel, it features a large private roof terrace - an impressive vantage point from which to admire stunning views of the Prague Castle panorama or entertain a small al fresco party.
