Bangkok, 14 July 2011 – Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok has once again been voted number one city hotel in Asia as part of Travel + Leisure magazine’s 16th annual ‘World’s Best Awards 2011’ readers poll. Readers voted on hotel rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok was not only voted Asia’s number one city hotel, but also received second highest score of all city hotels in the world with 94.49 points. Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok now sits at 23rd best hotel in the world overall, up from 57th last year.
The Oriental Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok was voted number eight in the world and number two in Asia.
The city of Bangkok has retained the number one spot as ‘World’s Best City’ in 2011.
“We are delighted to receive such wonderful recognition for our legendary hotel and pride ourselves on our exceptional service. It is down to my wonderful team that we have achieved this. There is an increasing amount of quality competition in Asia so we are delighted to once again be awarded Asia’s Best!” said General Manager, Mr Jan D. Goessing.
Also in Thailand, Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai was honored with 7th best hotel in the world overall and second best resort hotel in Asia in 2011, up from number 9th last year.
