The Body Politic: The Spa At Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC Creates Special Election Season Treatments

Politically minded guests choose “Liberal” or “Conservative” therapies

Hong Kong, 22 September 2008 – As the 2008 election season is underway, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC presents special spa treatments packaged for the politically minded. Releasing unnecessary stress that the election season can bring, the non-partisan "The Body Politic" treatments offer both “Liberal” and “Conservative” experiences, each designed with characteristics attributed to either political philosophy.

The “Liberal Bliss” will offer guests the opportunity to restore the body’s health with essential oils and hot stones providing relief to muscle tension. Natural aromatherapy products, in harmony with the environment, are used throughout. The “Conservative Journey” promotes well-being through more traditional, deep-tissue massage techniques. A regenerating facial for stressed skin is also part of the Conservative experience.

Each of “The Body Politic” treatments, whether Liberal or Conservative, is 3 hours and costs USD 525, exclusive of 19% gratuity. These special election season treatments are available through Inauguration Day 2009, January 20, 2009. For additional information about “The Body Politic” treatments, or to schedule an appointment at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC please call +1 (202) 787 6100.

“The Body Politic” treatments are comprised of the following therapies:

The Liberal Bliss:

• Welcoming Foot Ritual
All guests are invited to leave politics at the door with this traditional welcome. Individual needs will be assessed at this time. • Aromatherapy Massage with Hot Stones
This revitalizing treatment massages essential oils into the skin to pamper mind, body and spirit. Hot stones are used on the back, serving as generators of energy to create a sense of balance and calm and guide the therapist to work deeper, providing relief to deep-seated muscle tension. The luxurious oils and gentle strokes provide a sense of total relaxation and well-being.
• The Infusion Facial
This facial is an excellent nourishing boost, delivering vitamins and nutrients deep into the skin. Applying a collagen mask and cold stone lymphatic massage, this facial is appropriate for all skin types and leaves the skin incredibly clean, hydrated and glowing.

The Conservative Journey:
• Welcoming Foot Ritual
All guests are invited to leave politics at the door with this traditional welcome. Individual needs will be assessed at this time. • Full Body Deep Tissue Massage
Combining deep pressure and hot stones, this traditional treatment is ideal for those experienced in massage. The deep-tissue work is strong and not for the faint-hearted. It will help to fully release the deep-seated patterns of tension and resistance that build up every day.
• The Regenerate Facial
Products naturally rich in free radicals and antioxidants are used in this advanced facial, resulting in a firming and lifting treatment for mature or stressed skin. A deep scalp massage during the mask leaves the body fully relaxed.
