The Excelsior, Hong Kong Presents The ABCs Of Exploring Hong Kong

Hong Kong, 10 March 2009 — Exploring Hong Kong with a combination of Adventure, Balance and Culinary experience has never been easier. The Excelsior, Hong Kong’s new package The ABCs of Exploring Hong Kong allows guests to truly understand the unique and vibrant activities of the city.

Adventure – Each guest will be given a map and a prepaid Octopus card that can be used on all public transport for a self-explore day tour. Guests can visit historic buildings in the Central and Eastern part of the island followed by a visit to a traditional wet market to see the amazingly arranged fresh produce, while getting a real feel of local life. Additionally, guests can ascend to The Peak and take in spectacular views across the city and harbour, then end the day at Lan Kwai Fong with its buzzing night life.

Balance – Attain mind and body equilibrium with a 60-minute body treatment of your choice in the comfort of a guest suite. This path to total relaxation is performed by certified therapists from The Excelsior Wellness Centre using Mandarin Oriental signature treatments.

Culinary experience –Dim Sum encompasses a wide range of Chinese delicacies served in bamboo baskets and accompanied by Chinese tea. Our Chinese Executive Chef Tom Chung will teach guests the essentials of making various authentic dim sum. Instruction is followed by a set lunch featuring guests’ own self-made dim sum at Yee Tung Heen restaurant, recipient of the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand award.

The two-night package, The ABCs of Exploring Hong Kong is priced at HK$8,300 for two persons, and includes:

  • Two nights accommodation in an Executive Suite
  • Daily breakfast at the Executive Lounge for two persons
  • A welcome bottle of champagne at the hotel’s top-floor restaurant TOTT’s offering spectacular 270-degree views of Victoria Harbour

  • Tin Hau Temple – one of the city’s official monuments dedicated to Tin Hau, goddess of the Sea, and a superb example of temple architecture St. John’s Cathedral – oldest surviving Western church building in Hong Kong with its construction completed in 1849 Bowrington Road Wet Market –  the feel of everyday life abounds at this fresh market where live seafood as well as fresh meats and produce are sold The Peak –overlooking the city skyline, world-famous Victoria Harbour and out to Kowloon, as well as the surrounding green hillsides Lan Kwai Fong – the city’s most popular entertainment area and filled with many stylish clubs and bars
  • Balance – a 60-minute body treatment for two persons provided by The Excelsior Wellness Centre
  • Culinary Experience – a 90-minutes dim sum cooking class and set lunch at Yee Tung Heen for two persons
