Enjoy Jakarta At Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta

Hong Kong, 15 November 2011 – As the country’s capital city and a lively social, cultural, economic and political hub of the nation, Jakarta has so many things to offer.  In order to experience the city in style Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta is delighted to launch the Enjoy Jakarta Package.

Located in the heart of the city, Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta offers guests easy access to historical and cultural sites as well as to the surrounding financial, diplomatic and fashionable districts. The hotel’s concierge team can provide detailed information on local sightseeing, and arrange transportation or guided tours in order to view the best of the city in style.

Adjacent to the hotel are Jakarta’s two premier shopping centers “Plaza Indonesia” and “Grand Indonesia” allowing guests to sample a world-class shopping experience, with a wide array of luxury brands.  Guests who seek Indonesia's indigenous products and handicrafts, such as batik, can do so by visiting Alun-Alun Indonesia a one-stop shopping venue, positioned as the “Window of Indonesia” located inside the Grand Indonesia shopping mall. For all things vintage, Surabaya Street, just a few minutes away from the hotel is the best venue for bargain hunting.

As a destination of cultural tourism, guests can experience the classical old town of Jakarta - Kota Tua, where historical buildings and museums were originally built by the Dutch colonial residents during their reign.  The area was once a place of commerce for traders coming to “Batavia” as it was named by the Dutch at that time.  As a home to several important historical sites and buildings, Kota Tua is the perfect place to re-live the old days and experience a piece of Indonesian history.

For art enthusiasts, Taman Ismail Marzuki is the place where art, music and film culminate; various art forms, both traditional and contemporary, either Indonesian or foreign are performed in this cultural centre; the centre was named after Ismail Marzuki, one of Indonesian most influential composers. This part of town is also where visitors should go if on the lookout for the art exhibitions, live stage acts, music performances or the occasional preview of indie films from Indonesian or international film-makers. For schedules and reservations the hotel’s concierge will assist.

After returning to the hotel, guests can indulge with a wide range of Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta’s restaurants and bars or be pampered with a treatment at the Fitness and Wellness Centre.

The Enjoy Jakarta package starts from USD 253 per room per night, inclusive of:
• Daily breakfast at Cinnamon restaurant for two persons
• Complimentary room upgrade (subject to availability)
• Complimentary extra bed for children under twelve years of age, sharing the same room
• In-room high-speed internet access
• One hour of traditional Indonesian massage at Fitness and Wellness for two persons

The Enjoy Jakarta package is available until 31 March 2012 and is subject to room availability. Rates are inclusive of 21% government tax and service charge.
