Hong Kong, 31 January, 2012 – Chinese New Year is a time to welcome longevity, wealth and prosperity. 23 January 2012 marks the beginning of Year of the Water Dragon, which many believe brings the possibility of good fortune. Of the 12 Zodiac signs, dragons are considered to be the most powerful.
Celebrate the Year of the Water Dragon in resplendent relaxation at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas. Delight with the introduction of two new treatments that pay homage to the hotel groups’ Oriental heritage and the spa theories based in Traditional Chinese Medicine. These two new spa treatments are inspired to soothe, restore balance and bring good luck this New Year and are available through 31 December 2012.
The soothing Year of the Water Dragon Massage begins with a welcoming foot ritual followed by a massage concentrating on the deep-seated tension in the shoulders and lower back. A warm mineral mud mask is then applied to the lower back enveloped by moist heat. A soothing scalp massage concludes this journey of wellness.
For the romantic couple seeking good fortune and prosperity in love, the Double Water Dragon Ritual is the perfect indulgence. The two-hour ceremony commences in the Spa Suite with a welcoming foot ritual. Symbiotic rhythm is restored as a couple’s massage is performed in synchronicity on side-by-side treatment tables. The journey concludes with the water element in a warm soaking bath that reinforces the love connection.
The Water Dragon Massage is a 90-minute treatment and is USD 240 Monday to Thursday; USD 280 Friday to Sunday; The Double Water Dragon Ritual is USD 325 per person Monday to Sunday; USD 650 per couple Monday to Sunday. The Water helps to calm the fire in Dragon therefore making this Dragon year a special time with hopes bringing in prosperity for personal reasons and in business.
