Minimum average temperatures are in January, at around 6 degrees Celsius with an average high in July and August around 28 degrees Celsius. The city is unique being so cosmopolitan and yet has five kilometres of beaches. Rainfall averages 1,000 mm a year, which helps maintain the many green areas around the city.
