Elbow Beach, Bermuda to be Repositioned as an Intimate Luxury Resort

As of November 30, 2009, Elbow Beach, Bermuda will be repositioned as a more intimate resort, featuring 98 luxury suites and cottages, following the closure of the hotel’s 101-year-old main building for a planned renovation. A detailed program for the renovation of the legendary 101-year old main building will be announced in due course.

The recently renovated 98 suites and cottage units will be further enhanced with advanced in-room entertainment systems, luxury interior goods, including 300 thread count linens and improvements to bathroom facilities.  As part of the resort’s redesign, the former Veranda Bar will be fashioned into a recreation lounge with internet stations, HD television, a well-stocked library, an antique billiards table and a complimentary refreshment station.  Additionally, three new poolside courtesy suites will be appointed for early check-in and late check-out guests.

Elbow Beach, Bermuda is renowned for its spa, as well as its temperature controlled 25-metre swimming pool, fitness room and kid’s club, all of which will remain in operation. The gift shop and beauty salon will be renovated to a luxurious new standard. Our half-mile pink sand beachfront will be enhanced with new luxury beach lounge chairs and a spa beach pavilion will bring holistic spa therapies ocean-side.

The repositioned resort will feature six popular dining and refreshment options, including LIDO beachside restaurant, which will provide breakfast each morning and gourmet Mediterranean cuisine in the evening. A relaxing new bar and entertainment facility will inhabit The DEEP nightclub, while Sea Breeze, the chic open-air tapas and sushi lounge, and Mickey’s ‘On-the-Beach’ Bistro will continue to delight diners. In-room dining and Blue Point, the seasonal poolside restaurant will also offer a host of delectable options for guests at the intimate resort.

Other resort enhancements will include a new business center and a complete renovation of the 101-year-old, free-standing Bermuda Room, which will be restored to its authentic 1908 heritage and become a high quality meeting and banqueting venue for small groups, weddings and social functions.

The refurbishments for the repositioning of the resort will be done in discreet phases between January and March 2010. We do not anticipate any noteworthy disruptions to guests during the works.

As we enter a new chapter in the history of Elbow Beach, we as always are committed to delighting our guests with the finest hospitality our island has to offer and look forward to providing the next level of luxury accommodation in Bermuda.
