Boston is a compact city in which everything is close at hand and getting around is as easy as putting one foot in front of the other.

While tourists might be perfectly happy to ride a colorful trolley or an amphibious Duck to see Boston’s historical sites, there are plenty of other options for getting around, including an efficient public transport system and plentiful taxis.

By foot

Boston is the perfect city to explore on foot. Nearby attractions include The Boston Public Library, Copley Square, The Boston Public Garden, Trinity Church and Newbury Street. City maps are readily available at our Concierge Desk.

By taxi

Readily available at the hotel’s dedicated stand, taxis are a good value in Boston as nothing is too far away. Fares begin at USD 1.75 for the first 1/8 mile and USD 0.30 for each additional 1/8 mile. The recommended tip is 15-20% of the fare.

By subway

The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) operates the comprehensive underground railway system, or “the T,” as it is commonly called. The nearest stops to the hotel are Copley Station on the B, C, D and E Green Lines, Hynes Convention Center on the B, C, and D Green Lines and Prudential on the E Green Line. Fares are USD 1.70 with CharlieCard or USD 2.00 with CharlieTicket or cash. Our Concierge would be delighted to provide you with Boston T maps.

By bus

Public buses are frequent and easy to use, but exact change is required. Alternatively, use a stored value CharlieCard (USD 1.25) or CharlieTicket (USD 1.75), which can be purchased at any nearby subway station or in numerous neighborhood stores. Routes 9, 10, 170, 39, 55, 57, and 170 all run near the hotel. Bus maps may be obtained at our Concierge Desk.
