Joining its award-winning sister restaurants in London and New York, Bar Boulud is a French-inspired bistro and wine bar from internationally acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud. Specializing in classic brasserie fare, Bar Boulud is known for its delicious French menu, seasonal New England inspired dishes and signature charcuterie from renowned Parisian charcutier Gilles Verot.

Entered directly from Boylston Street or through the lobby of the hotel, Bar Boulud’s design offers a contemporary take on the craft of winemaking with vaulted ceilings inspired by wine barrels, wood floors and walls fashioned from wine crates. With a choice of seating including a row of stunning rich burgundy leather booths, the restaurant also features a 7-seat marble charcuterie counter, a glass enclosed wine cellar and a 17-seat backlit zinc top bar.

Overseen by Chef Aaron Chambers, Bar Boulud’s menu offers a wonderful choice of both French and American dishes, enhanced by an impressive wine cellar specializing in Burgundy and the Rhône Valley. As suited to special occasions as it is to business lunches and leisurely meals, Bar Boulud is one of Boston’s most exciting dining venues.


A taste of France with an American accent

Showcasing the best of France and the United States, Bar Boulud’s enticing menu offers a selection of bistro classics such as Boudin Blanc, a white pork sausage with truffled mashed potatoes, alongside American dishes including beef burgers topped with pork belly confit, arugula, tomato compote and Morbier cheese on a brioche bun.

Visitors to Bar Boulud will also be able to enjoy a wonderful array of traditional terrines and pates from renowned Parisian charcutier Gilles Verot, including Pâté Grand Mère, chicken liver, pork, cognac and Pâté Grand-Père, foie gras, pork and truffle.

Behind the Scenes at Bar Boulud, Boston

Daniel Boulud

Daniel Boulud is one of the most revered chefs working in the United States today. Born and raised in Lyon, France, but based in New York for over 30 years, his roster of restaurants include Bar Boulud, Boulud Sud, db Bistro Moderne and DBGB Kitchen, although arguably he is best known for the three Michelin-starred DANIEL. The author of 8 cookbooks and the recipient of multiple awards including Chevalier de la Legion d’ Honneur from the French Government, Chef Boulud’s seasonal French American cuisine is celebrated around the world. Bar Boulud at Mandarin Oriental, Boston is sister to restaurants in London and New York.

Aaron Chambers – Chef de Cuisine

Born and raised in Yorkshire, England, chef Aaron Chambers has worked in kitchens around the world and mastered the art of French cuisine. Trained under Raymond Blanc at the two-Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in England, chef Chambers then moved to Dubai where he became chef de partie at Al Mahara, the Burj al Arab hotel’s famed seafood restaurant. Following further appointments at Indebleu in Washington DC and Café du Parc at the Willard Intercontinental in DC, Chef Chambers headed to New York in 2009 to become sous chef at Café Boulud, Chef Daniel Boulud’s Michelin starred restaurant.

In 2012, Chef Chambers was appointed Executive Chef of Daniel Boulud’s new restaurant Boulud Sud, going on to help win two Michelin stars for the Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Two years later, he heads up the new Bar Boulud at Mandarin Oriental, Boston.
