Chiang Mai is surrounded by mountains and lush vegetation and enjoys a pleasant, temperate climate. There are three distinct seasons each with its own pleasures.

Climate

During the summer months (early March to end May) the average temperature is 80°F-84°F (27°C-29°C). The rainy season, early June to the end of October, is when the countryside is at its most verdant and green and the temperature is between 78°F-82°F (26°C-28°C). This is also the time to see the Mae Ya waterfall at its most magnificent. Winter or the cool season is between late October and the end of February, when the climate is a comfortable 73°F-75°F (23°C-26°C). This is a perfect time to visit Thailand's highest mountain Inthanon and enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna.
