Discover how to create delicious Thai dishes with a lesson at our acclaimed Oriental Culinary Academy.
Located on the upper storey of a delightful wooden pavilion set behind Le Grand Lanna Restaurant, the Academy features classroom-style kitchens fitted with individual cooking stations and preparation areas for up to 20 students.
With classes offered every day except Sunday, guests will learn how to prepare and cook a range of delicious dishes from central and northern Thailand. In addition, we offer the opportunity to tour our vegetable and herb gardens and Chiang Mai’s famous food market.
During the lessons, which are conducted in English or Thai, students will learn to cook a range of dishes including Northern-style spicy pork salad, spicy herb chicken soup or khao sawy, a local favourite comprised of crispy soft noodles with a mild, creamy yellow curry. The syllabus also includes popular desserts such as fragrant coconut custard and sweet taro in coconut milk. Additionally, we offer lessons in fruit and vegetable carving.
Following class, guests will be able to enjoy the dishes they’ve prepared and will be presented with an apron, Oriental Culinary Academy certificate and easy-to-follow menu printouts.
