Hong Kong's weather varies very much from season to season; this brief guide will help you pack the right clothes.

Climate

Hong Kong's climate is subject to monsoons and occasionally typhoons. In the winter time between mid-December through February, it can get quite cold but is generally mild and predominantly dry. It is humid and rainy from spring through to summer; the hottest months are July and August with an average temperature of 31 degrees Celsius. The finest time to visit is in autumn when it is warm enough to swim, hardly rains and the humidity is low.

As restaurants and bars are very well air conditioned, whatever weather you are anticipating, be sure to bring something to allow for cool interiors even if it is warm outside.
