Ptah Brown Trio at Captain’s Bar

Live music enthusiasts should make a detour to the Captain’s Bar to enjoy the sounds of the new resident band, the Ptah Brown Trio.  Headed by charismatic Ptah Brown, whose voice defines the heartache of blues and the hope of gospel, the trio will perform nightly Mondays to Thursdays from 9pm until 12:45am and until 1:45am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Gold medals at HOFEX

Pierre Awarded Michelin Star

Pierre at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, which features the bold three-star Michelin cuisine of Pierre Gagnaire, received one Michelin star at the launch of the Michelin Guide for Hong Kong and Macau.

Burgundy Wine Dinner

On 1 December, some of France’s most exciting wine makers come together for an unforgettable evening of fine wine and excellent food. The five-course dinner will be hosted by three Burgundy wine makers, Antoine Jobard, Arnaud Mortet and Vincent Morey who will introduce their wines over a spectacular gourmet dinner. The evening is priced at HKD 1,988 per person and begins at 7:30pm.

Breakfast at The Mandarin Grill

Discover the Grill’s famous breakfast at the Mandarin Grill. Served between 7:30am and 10am from Mondays to Fridays, the menu ranges from old favourites to new creations from Executive Chef, Uwe Opocensky. Try the “English Breakfast”, a fortifying repast of organic eggs, dry cured back bacon, Cumberland sausage, tomatoes, black pudding and field mushrooms, priced at HKD 168.

Dan Hunter makes his Hong Kong Debut

Chef Dan Hunter from The Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld (Australia), awarded best regional restaurant of the year by the Australian Gourmet Traveller 2010, will demonstrate some of his exclusive dishes at The Mandarin Grill from 17 to 21 November. The six-course dinner menu is priced at HKD 1,288 or HKD 1,888 per person including four hand-picked Australian wines.

Chocolate Afternoon Tea

Hairy Crab and Shanghainese Specialities at Clipper Lounge

This Christmas, the Mandarin Spa launches its “heaven scent” Christmas Precious Oils Rituals aromatherapy treatment. Choose from two 90-minute treatments: the Inner Peace Ritual combining frankincense and myrrh extracts, and the Uplift and Energise Ritual with clementine and ginger essential oils. Each treatment is priced at HKD 1,500 and will be available from 1 November 2009 until 31 January 2010.
