Malaysia is famous for its beaches – and justifiably so, but in busy KL not everyone has time for a drive to the shore. What to do? Well, you can always opt for a classic pastime, such as tennis, swimming or running. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try something a little less ordinary, like go-kart racing, firefly watching or rainforest hiking. It’s all here. And it’s all fun.

We have two outdoor tennis courts for guests to enjoy. Bookings can be made through the

Swimming
Our free-form 27.5m outdoor swimming pool is the perfect place to beat the heat. The pool and Jacuzzi are set amid a tropical garden with breathtaking views of the surrounding park and city. There is a separate children’s pool and guests each receive cold towels and refreshing water spray when they arrive. The pool is open from 6am-10pm Monday-Saturday and from 8am to 10pm on Sundays.

Jogging
The 1.3km-long jogging track that encircles the 50-acre Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park (KLCC) could not be more convenient. Adjacent to the hotel, the track is laid with a special rubberized material that ensures comfort and safety to runners. Our Vitality Club trainers conduct daily jogging sessions, but guests are free to jog on their own. In fact, jogging maps are available in every guest room and complimentary bottles of mineral water and cold face towels are provided at the gym on your return.

Outdoor Activities

Go-kart Racing
Every year the Sepang International Circuit hosts the Malaysian Grand Prix, but few visitors to KL realize that it is also home to some terrific go-karting. At 1.247 metres long, the specially built track is a miniature version of what the pros drive. Fee: MYR 35 for 10 minutes.

Canopy Walk
Nature lovers can enjoy a treetop adventure and discover wildlife galore during a canopy walk led by the Forestry Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM). This forest reserve is also an ideal spot for picnics, so be sure to ask the hotel to pack your lunch! MYR 3 admission fee.

Gentling Highlands
Any excursion out of the city should include a trip to Gentling, a 51km (or 1 hour) drive from the city. The bustling town is 6,000 feet above sea level and not only boasts the longest cable car in Southeast Asia, it also has casinos, theme parks and plenty of fresh mountain air.

Firefly Watching
Cruise along the Selangor River at night and you’ll witness the marvel of millions of fireflies flashing in the mangroves. The spectacle is one of the most popular sights in Kuala Lumpur and should not be missed. Villagers offer regular boat services that bring you close to the action. Fees: MYR 10 for adults, MYR 6 for children aged 3-12.

Port Dickson Beaches
The 18 kilometres of beautiful beaches in Port Dickson, or PD as it is called locally, are enough to entice weekenders and locals alike out of the city. Besides fine sand and surf, the retreat is also home to the 13-year old Rachado Lighthouse, a recreational park, a floating fishing dock and some quaint seafood restaurants - all of which more than make up for the 2-hour drive from the city.
