Family Outings
From the Empire State Building, the “Cathedral of the Skies”, to the Statue of Liberty, there are numerous landmarks that any child longs to explore. For a breath of fresh air, nothing beats Central Park, with its playgrounds, playing fields and zoo. Other ideas include:
Central Park - Skating and Wildlife Park Central Park is a wonderful venue for kids who will enjoy rowing boats on the pond, skating at the Wollman Rink or a visit to The Central Wildlife conservation center which is one of the highlights of the park. The center has been recently renovated with imaginative displays of animals in specialist areas.
The Bronx Zoo - 40 Minutes/10 Miles or 16.1 Km The Bronx Zoo is the largest city zoo in the country with more than 6,000 animals. Don’t miss the Congo Gorilla Forest. A 40 minute drive from the hotel.
Sony Wonder Lab - 12 Minutes/2 Miles or 3.2 Km Located at 550 Madison Avenue and 56th Street is a fun place for children to create video games, produce TV shows and even operate a robotic arm. A 12 minute drive from the hotel.
Hans Christian Andersen Statue - 15 Minutes/3 Miles or 4.8 Km The statue of Hans Christian Andersen is located in New York City's Central Park. The sculpture was designed to be climbed on, which makes it popular with kids. In the summer months, visitors gather around the statue for storytelling.
