Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC in association with Galerie Brigitte, presents an exclusive exhibit of contemporary watercolor on silk paintings, “Silk Scroll Watercolors – Flowing Expressions,” featuring Vietnamese artist, Vu Tuan’s fascination with the allure and mystery of female beauty.
“Silk Scroll Watercolors – Flowing Expressions” illustrates the romance and sensuality of young maidens through a mix of bright and lively colors and touches of gold and silver mediums. Tuan’s use of intricate lines reveals a mysterious and fantasy-like fascination of natural forms. Several of the pieces on display include Mid Summer Night, watercolor on silk; Sapa Lovers Market, watercolor on silk; and Summer Lotus, watercolor on silk, and range in price from USD 1,700 to USD 2,500.
The exhibit will run July 16 through December 31, 2007. The artwork is available for purchase through Galerie Brigitte and inquiries can be made by calling +1 (703) 860 2345 or visiting online at www.galeriebrigitte.com.
