Three menus are offered: a three-course prix fixe menu, a six-course chef’s tasting menu or a vegetarian tasting menu.
Semi-private dining can be arranged in The Wine Gallery adjacent to the exhibition kitchen. Accommodating up to twenty-two guests for dinner, The Wine Gallery is a smart setting for any special occasion or business gathering. Chef Ziebold will work with you on customizing the menu.
About Mark Politzer, Manager
Prior to managing the award-winning CityZen restaurant, Manager Mark Politzer began his hospitality career at age 15, making bread and pastries for a French bakery in New York.
While studying hospitality management at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, Politzer worked as a server assistant for the James Beard Award-Winning Chef Allen’s Restaurant for one year. He then went abroad to complete a three-month management trainee program at the Jury’s Hotel in Dublin, Ireland.
From there, Mark Politzer returned to the United States to complete a one-year manager training program, with food and beverage, at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Florida. He then revisited Europe to participate in a culinary training program in the South of France, working for six months at Château de La Chèvre d’Or, a Relais & Chateaux restaurant.
Politzer earned his degree in Hospitality Management in 1998 and went to work for Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco as a management trainee. A year later he was promoted to Assistant Manager of Silks restaurant. Almost two years later, he transferred to Foliage, Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park’s Michelin 1-star restaurant. While serving as Manager, Politzer also completed a course at London’s Wine and Spirit Education Trust, one of the world’s most regarded wine certification programs in the world.
In 2004, Politzer moved to the nation’s capital to open CityZen restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC.
