Awaken your inner senses with authentic classes taught by yoga teachers – Clint Orchuk and Hortario schooled in the Indian traditions of this ancient practice.
Clint grew up in the Rocky Mountains and it was there that he developed his love of the outdoors. After graduating from college with a degree in business, he travelled the world, living in Hawaii, the Philippines, and Taiwan before settling in Hong Kong.
Travelling through Thailand twelve years ago, Clint discovered yoga in a Buddhist monastery, and ten years ago was introduced to Ashtanga Yoga. Pursuing his studies in Hawaii and India, Clint was privileged to be authorized to teach this method by Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India.
Hortario
Hortario experienced his first class of yoga in 1974 whilst at university in his native Chile. A year later, he was living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and had the chance to meet Indra Devi, probably the first westerner to have studied with Krishnamacharya, the grandfather of modern day yoga. Hortario continued his yoga practice and experienced some stints with teaching whilst he pursued a career in the Chilean Foreign Service which took him to the Middle East, Europe US and finally India.
In India, he had the chance to study with other great students of Krishnamacharya. He studied with BKS Iyengar in Pune and Patabhi Jois in Mysore and received authorisation to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga after leaving the foreign service in 2000. He has since dedicated himself fully to the yogic path. He approaches yoga practice as an irreplaceable tool to help us keep perspective of life’s ups and downs and to find inner peace.
Tiana
Tiana started practicing yoga from a young age following the spiritual teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda with whom her family has been affiliated with since the 1940’s. A significant part of her development into adulthood has been influenced by his teachings.
She began her Ashtanga Vinyasa practice (as taught by Sri K Patthabi Jois) under the inspiration and guidance of her primary teacher, Paul Dallaghan whom she goes back to study with a few times a year. She has also spent time in Mysore practicing at the source with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswamy and continues to do so.
Her classes bring breath, core awareness and concentration together with movement. She believes a steady practice comes from finding the balance between discipline and focus with lightness and grace.
