Things to Do

  • The Jewish Quarter - 20 Minutes walk /1.25 Miles or 2 Km
    Visit Franz Kafka’s haunts throughout the Jewish quarter and its famous cemetery. Immerse yourself in the heritage and famed culture of the district and try one of the local restaurants.
  • Opera and Theatre
    Music thrives in Prague; venues range from grand opera houses (Prague State Opera, National Theatre, or the smaller, historic Estates’ Theatre) to elegant concert halls to smaller venues like churches and palaces.
  • Museums
    In addition to the National Gallery, there are a number of smaller museums dedicated to art, music, and other fields such as:
    - Villa Bertramka – Museum of W.A. Mozart and the Duseks, Mozartova 169, Praha 5
    - Czech Museum of Music, Karmelitská 2/4, 118 00, Praha 1
  • Scenic trip outside Prague
    Karlstejn Castle, another outstanding medieval structure built in the 14th Century by Charles IV is located near the town of Beroun, an hour’s drive away.
  • The UNESCO-listed city of Cesky Krumlov is a marvellous sight of Renaissance architecture, located on a meander of the river Vltava, three to four hours’ drive from Prague.

  • Lobkowicz Palace, Prague Castle - 20 Minutes (uphill) walk/1.5 Miles or 2.5 Km
    This newly-renovated princely palace on the eastern edge of Prague Castle houses one of the continent’s best private collections of Old Master paintings, music, and arms.
  • Charles Bridge - 5 Minutes walk/0.7 Miles or 1.1 Km
    Named after King Charles IV of Bohemia, the bridge is a scenic link between the Old Town and Mala Strana, the ‘Little Quarter’. Portrait artists and souvenir vendors vie for your custom.
  • Old Town Square - 15 Minutes walk/ 1 Miles or 1.7 Km
    This is the tourist hub of Prague and the gathering place for all of the city’s major events, including a magical Christmas market. Very beautiful, with a fine selection of architecture ranging from Gothic to Baroque.
  • Astronomical Clock - 15 Minutes walk/1.1 Miles or 1.8 Km
    This rare clock created in 1410 shows the revolution of the sun, moon and stars. It is a stunning architectural piece richly decorated and flanked by fine sculptures. Situated on the southern wall of the Old Town City Hall.

  • Parizska Street - 15 Minutes walk/1.1 Miles/1.8 Km
    The luxury designers, including Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Boss, Dunhill are located in Prague’s ‘Champs-Elysées’ – the Parisian (Parizska) street in the heart of the Jewish quarter.
  • Wenceslas Square - 2.5 Miles or 4 Km
    Na Prikope Street - 2.5 Miles or 4 Km

    Wenceslas Square and the Na Prikope street are the two main shopping areas in central Prague with a number of international stores.
  • Old Town Square - 15 Minutes walk/ 1 Miles or 1.7 Km
    For smaller boutiques, look through the streets of Old Town and Malá Strana. The Czech Republic is renowned for producing outstanding glass and crystal and there are many shops throughout the Old Town selling vases, chandeliers, stemware, and glass art.
