In Sanya, entertaining kids is as easy as finding the animals, hanging on the beach and collecting seashells.

Sanya is an ideal family getaway. There is so much to see and do - both around Hainan Island and around our hotel, that there won’t be a dull moment.


At the hotel

In Sanya, younger fans are our favourite guests and we make sure they feel welcome with plenty of activities, delicious treats and a special gift. We also ensure that Mom and Dad can get away for some fun of their own. Here’s a list of services we offer to make sure your stay really is fun for the whole family:

  • Welcoming gift for all guests aged 12 and below
  • Nightly milk and cookies turndown during your stay
  • Babysitting by experienced caretakers. Advanced booking, through our Housekeeping department, is required
  • Baby cots are available on request
  • Children’s World features both indoor and outdoor play areas, plus arts and crafts, computer games, sandboxes, tricycles, toys, games and other imaginative activities. Open from 9am to 5:30pm.
  • Tennis lessons for children available through our fitness club
  • Children’s bicycles and helmets available for hire
  • Fully supervised daily activity programme including Volleyball, Swimming, Soccer, Movies, Treasure Hunts, Sandcastle Building, Giant Kite Making, Picnics, and Cooking.
  • Children’s menu, with activity booklets and colouring pens, in all restaurants.

Around Town

  • Sea Zoo - 35km/30-minute drive
    Near The End of the Earth, this zoo is a great place to take younger fans, especially if they have a fondness for such sea creatures as dolphins, sea lions and turtles. There are also crocs, exotic birds and some amazing views here. Admission fee is RMB 38 per person.
  • Monkey Island - 100km/1.5 hrs drive
    Technically this research park is not an island; it’s a peninsula. Still, it’s full of monkeys – about 2500 rhesus monkeys and macaques to be precise. Be sure to purchase some nuts when you arrive for feeding the animals. Admission is RMB 68; open daily 8am to 6pm.
  • Seashell Museum - 30km/30-minute drive
    This unusual museum takes up three floors of Yalong Bay’s tourism complex and covers every aspect of sea life. Open daily 9am to 5pm. Admission is RMB 56 per person. Ticket includes both the Seashell Museum and Central Square.
  • Deer Turning Back Park - 3km/15-minute drive
    Your little ones will love feeding and petting the Sika deer that reside in this garden setting. The park is located about 20km west of Sanya City. Admission is RMB 35 per person. Opening hours are 8am to 6pm daily.
  • Butterfly Valley - 30km/30-minute drive
    It has its tacky side, but mostly this is a colourful adventure packed with thousands of butterflies –including many of China’s most rare species. Butterfly Valley is located near the Longtan Lakes by Yalong Bay. Entrance fee is RMB 24 per person. Open daily 9am.
