Baan Phraya

Baan Phraya

The redefined Thai dining experience.

Built in the early 19th century, Baan Phraya is our historic Thai house situated riverside next to The Oriental Spa. We are excited to be reopening its doors to welcome gastronomes for the redefined Thai dining experience orchestrated by young and talented Thai Chef Pom Phatchara. Originally owned by highly regarded couple - Phraya Mahai Savanya and Khunying Loearn Mahai Savanya, Baan Phraya was once a prestigious socializing venue presenting delectable Thai feasts by the owners for invited Thai elites and high-ranking officers from other countries during state visits. In 1986 several rooms in the house were transformed into Thailand’s first Thai Cooking School at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.

Today Chef Pom Phatchara revives the spirit of Baan Phraya and redefines decades-long Thai dishes. Enjoy this intimate Thai fine dining journey during which diners will be presented with enriched Thai culture through exceptional food and gracious hospitality allowing spirit of the house to be warmly felt.
