Rock Climbing

Just 19 miles west of Las Vegas, is one of the world's most popular rock-climbing areas, Red Rock Canyon with more than 1,000 routes for beginner and experienced climbers, with some challenging vertical walls. The area is an open space of wild natural beauty, the top of a climb offers one of the finest views in the US.

Hiking

There’s good hiking at Red Rock Canyon through the Mojave Desert, 19 miles out of town and 60 Miles to the North of Las Vegas is Valley of Fire state park with its unique volcanic landscape; each a fascinating place for hiking. As you explore the stark arid surroundings you may come across ancient Indian rock art, 225 million year old Petrified Forest remains and wildlife that includes road runners and coyote. Mountain Biking

There is a big biking community in Las Vegas, not surprising as the trails are plenty and of every level. Full suspension bikes can be rented and in 20 minutes from the center of town you can be wheeling though a single track trail, admiring the awe inspiring countryside with a gentle ride and picnic or flying down the 22 degree gradient of the ‘elevator shaft.’

Horseback Riding

Admire the rugged scenery of the Mojave Desert on horseback, tripping through dry shrub, the air full of the scent of juniper. The Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area covers 195,819 acres filled with indigenous wildlife, flaura and fauna. You can enjoy old style cowboy trail riding and stay on for campfire dinners under the stars.

Skiing and Snowboarding

From Thanksgiving to Easter you can enjoy the pleasures of the snowy Spring Mountains. Superbly set up for enthusiastic snowboarders with jumps and skate rails.
