The Lied Museum is an enormous, interactive children’s museum, with displays grouped by age, all designed to stimulate young minds. From creating electricity and water play, to seeing how your digestive system works. Huge, fun and interactive, you can spend as long as you like here with kids of all ages.

 

Aquarium for the dangerous and unusual

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is an aquarium dedicated to conservation and learning but with a focus on the dangerous and unusual. 14 exhibits are dedicated to predators. There are tanks to touch, walk-throughs and imaginative displays, from the temple being reclaimed by the ocean to the sunken wreck. You can view 2,000 animals: rare golden crocodiles, sawfish, giant rays, endangered green sea turtles, piranhas, moon jellies and sharks.

 

Rock Climbing

For kids with a lot of energy and who love a challenge, just 19 miles west of Las Vegas, is one of the world's most popular rock-climbing areas, Red Rock Canyon. It has numerous routes for any level beginning with clambering over boulders. The area is an open space of wild natural beauty which will fuel imaginative recreations of the Wild West.

For a remote experience a walk through the Mojave Desert is fascinating for kids. They will particularly enjoy looking out for ancient Indian rock art, 225 million year old Petrified Forest remains and wildlife that includes road runners and coyote. A visitor’s center provides detailed information and recommends picnic spots which we will happily prepare for you.

 

Mountain Biking

Full suspension bikes can be hired and in 20 minutes from the center of town you can be wheeling though a single track trail, admiring the awe-inspiring countryside. It is easy to plan a gentle ride or for more experienced kids there are plenty of challenging tracks and tours they can join in.

 

Horseback Riding

Give your children a real cowboy experience. Admire the rugged scenery of the Mojave Desert on horseback. The Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area covers 195,819 acres with indigenous wildlife, flaura and fauna. You can enjoy trail rides for all levels and stay on for campfire dinners under the stars.

 

Skiing and Snowboarding

From Thanksgiving to Easter you can enjoy the pleasures of the snowy Spring Mountains. Superbly set up for enthusiastic snowboarders with jumps and skate rails. There are four lifts and the longest run is 0.6 mile (914 meters). Equipment hire is available and professional instruction for all levels and ages.
