While walking may not be an activity that everyone likes, as well as there being guests who would like to visit areas that are farther afield, taxis, buses and, for those visiting Hong Kong, ferries are all available.
Much of Macau's heritage is only moments from the hotel by foot and walking is one of the best methods of transporting yourself around the island.
Around Town
By Foot
Many of the main sights in Macau, such as Macau Fisherman's Wharf and other main tourist areas, are easily reached on foot from the hotel, although some guests may find that temperatures are too high for this activity to be a viable option at certain times of the year.
By Taxi
Taxis can be hailed from the street or picked up outside the hotel entrance. They are a very convenient and cost-effective way to get around Macau. The price for flagging down a taxi is MOP 11 with an additional MOP 1 for each 180 metres you travel in the taxi. If you have luggage this is usually charged at MOP 3 per item.
By Limousine
If you would prefer to hire a limousine with driver to transport you around Macau, please ask our Concierge to make the necessary reservation for you. Prices range from MOP 230 to MOP 400 per day, depending on the type of vehicle hired.
By Bus
There are a number of bus services that guests can use to get around Macau or to visit Taipa or Coloane. Bus No. 3, 3A and 28C will take you from the hotel to central Macau, where you can see most of the attractions. Prices vary and are dependent upon destination choice - MOP 2.5 for journeys on Macau Peninsula; MOP 3.3 between Macau and Taipa; MOP 5 between Macau and Coloane.
From and To Hong Kong
By Ferry
There are two companies that ferry visitors between Macau and Hong Kong: TurboJET and First Ferry. The fastest way to travel is on TurboJET, which costs between HKD 138 and HKD 176 for economy class; children over the age of one require a valid ticket. Sailing times are every 15 minutes and the journey takes approximately an hour.
First Ferry sails every 30 minutes from Macau Ferry Terminal and the journey time is approximately 70 minutes. Prices range from HKD 140 to HKD 275 per person.
From and To Macau Ferry Terminal
Macau Ferry Terminal is a 2-minute drive from the hotel and there are a number of transport options available to guests.
By Shuttle Bus
A free shuttle bus is available from 7am to 11:35pm, 7 days a week, to transport guests to and from Mandarin Oriental, Macau.

Guests can be met by a hotel representative and enjoy being transported in an air-conditioned limousine, which is comfortable and convenient. The price for limousine transport is MOP 400 from 8am to 7pm, MOP 430 from 7pm to 12 pm and MOP 1,600 from 12pm to 8am plus a 10% service charge.

Taxis are often difficult to catch but are available at the airport and will transport guests to Mandarin Oriental, Macau for a price of about MOP 60 with an additional luggage charge of MOP 5 for each separate item.

Driving Instructions to the Hotel
- Take the Friendship Bridge to get from Taipa to Macau
- Turn left after crossing the bridge onto Avenida da Amizade
- The entrance to Mandarin Oriental, Macau is on the left after driving for two kilometres
From and To Hong Kong International Airport
Hong Kong International Airport is a 45 minute direct ferry ride from the ferry terminal of Macau. Ferries operate daily and a single ticket will cost from HKD 180 for one adult.
