This serene man-made lake is adjacent to our hotel. It is a peaceful place to enjoy a sunset stroll along the promenade towards the Sai Van Lake. You will pass the soaring heights of the Macau Tower and beyond are the small colonial houses all prettily lit up at night.

Colonial History at the Taipa Houses

This is a pleasant sight to revisit Macau’s cultural heritage, enjoying peaceful surroundings and art exhibitions. Five houses in pastel green preserve the colonial architecture from 1920s. You can go into the houses, one displays East and West furnishings reflecting Macau’s Portuguese cultural heritage, another has a record of the islands history and another is an art gallery.

Macau Tower

The tower soars 338 metres above the city skyline and includes a cinema, exhibition hall, children’s playground, shops and restaurants. At 216 metres, it features the Skywalk – a breathtaking observation deck and at 233 metres you can test your nerves by doing a ‘skydiving’ SkyJump

A-Ma Temple

An atmospheric temple traditionally styled and filled with incense. Originally built 500 years ago, the temple is dedicated to the goddess A Ma, known as Tin Hau in China, the guardian of seafarers. Legend says that a beautiful girl guided a fishing boat through a storm, on arriving in Macau she walked up Barra Hill and ascended into the sky in a heavenly glow. This is where the temple was built.

Landmark Façade of St. Paul's

This five tier façade and front steps are all that remains of the original church, but today it is a landmark in Macau. It was originally built in the 17th century but was rebuilt following a fire and then destroyed in 1835 by another fire. Stone reliefs reflect classical religious depictions and some oriental features, such as Chinese inscriptions, chrysanthemums and cherries.

Macau Museum

Close to the St Paul’s façade this museum is located in the former Jesuit fort built in the 17th century. Senado Square

Named after the municipal building with its enclosed garden sanctuary, this is an impressive public space created from a swirling tile pattern and a beautiful fountain. Built in 1784, it’s one of the most outstanding illustrations of Portuguese craftsmanship in Macau. Today it is also home to numerous modern retailers.
