Chef Cherkaoui has turned to the much-loved recipes of local fisherman and farmers, harnessing the richness and diversity of this cuisine, before adding her own unique twist to the final plate. The result is a satisfying fusion of tastes and textures that celebrate the modern flavours and rich culinary heritage of Morocco.
Named after the fresh green olives that can be found in the region of Meknès, Mes’Lalla is located in the East Wing of the Palatial Lobby Riad. Designed by Parisian duo Gilles & Boissier, the restaurant’s chic, relaxed décor reflects both Moroccan and Arab-Andalucian influences. Outside a spacious terrace provides room for al fresco dining with views stretching out over the resort’s tranquil series of ponds.
Inspired of the unique Moroccan cultural heritage with a contemporary touch, Mes’Lalla represents the vision of the renowned Moroccan chef Meryem Cherkaoui. Offering a delicious journey through the country’s rich gastronomic heritage, chef Cherkaoui’s « Tradition » and « Signature » menus offer a choice of mouth-watering dishes. Complementing the menu, we have a wide choice of fine wine and spirits, from Europe and North Africa.
Widely praised for her modern interpretation of classic Moroccan recipes, Chef Cherkaoui was born in Rabat. Having studied at the famous Institut Paul Bocuse in France, she worked for some of country’s most prestigious hotels including Le Majestic in Cannes and Le Crillon in Paris, before returning to Morocco to open her own restaurant in 2002. Joining Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech in 2015, chef Cherkaoui uses produce from local suppliers and vegetables grown in our organic garden to create dishes inspired by the French techniques she’s mastered alongside traditional Moroccan skills passed down from her grandmother.
