The Spa At Mandarin Oriental, Boston Announces New ‘Inner Strength’ Treatment For A Good Cause

Hong Kong, 8 July 2013 – The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Boston is delighted to announce the development of a new Inner Strength treatment inspired by the Inner Strength oil personally created by Aromatherapy Associates’ founder Geraldine Howard during her battle with cancer.

This new full-body treatment incorporates a variety of massage techniques selected to ease physical tension and emotional anxiety resulting from a traumatic experience or an exceptionally stressful time in one’s life.  The application of a heated compress warms and nurtures the core, while guided breath work helps quiet the mind and bring focus inward for a more meditative and relaxed state. Aromatherapy Associate’s Inner Strength oil is used throughout the treatment with its powerful blend of ingredients including calming clary sage and frankincense for better focus and clarity, fortifying cardamom and rosemary, healing rose and vetivert, and geranium which helps to emotionally balance the mind and stimulate circulation in the body. The treatment concludes with attention to the reflex points in the feet to make the body feel more grounded and to gently awaken the senses.

“When Geraldine decided to create this oil to help her during a low point in her battle with cancer, she intentionally sought out ingredients that build strength, inspire courage and induce a positive state of mind,” states Mandarin Oriental, Boston’s Spa Director, Sharon Holtz. “Our Inner Strength treatment’s massage is an impactful way to promote healing from physical and emotional trauma – be it bereavement, profound loss, illness, or any significant change in one’s life.  The treatment helps maximize the effects of the oil’s ingredients to help combat fear and depleted physical reserves by tapping into the restorative powers, courage and resilience inside all of us. The feeling of rejuvenation and empowerment this treatment ignites is a powerful healing tool for anyone facing a particularly challenging period in their lives.”

Exclusive to The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Boston, the treatment will launch in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2013. Through the end of this year, 10% of the cost of each Inner Strength treatment purchased will be donated to the Jimmy Fund, an organization that has been supporting Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for over 60 years by raising funds for cancer care and research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world.

Inner Strength is available as a 1 hour and 20 minute treatment priced at USD 200 on weekdays and USD 220 on weekends, or as a 1 hour and 50 minute treatment priced at USD 270 on weekdays and USD 295 on weekends.  For reservations, please contact The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Boston by phone at +1 (617) 535 8820 or email at mobos-spa@mohg.com.
