Hong Kong, 7 May 2014 – Mandarin Oriental, Geneva is delighted to announce the opening of Café Calla on 2 June 2014. Introducing a high-end luxury Café concept in the heart of Geneva, the new restaurant led by Chef Nasser Jeffane will offer modern French and health-conscious cuisine, centered around regional products. Along with an innovative selection of organic-based recipes, guests will also enjoy an extensive choice of beverages including a variety of wines from the Geneva region.
The A La Carte and Daily Special menus at Café Calla will be prepared with fresh house-made ingredients, including locally-sourced meat and fish, a large selection of side dishes, an extensive list of wines from the Geneva vineyards, as well as healthy drinks and cocktails. For lunch, the Café will propose a new business lunch option with a “55 CHF lunch in 55 minutes” three-course menu.
Café Calla will be directed by Chef Nasser Jeffane, a former disciple of renowned chef Thierry Marx. Nasser was a Sous-Chef at Michelin-starred restaurant Sur Mesure at Mandarin Oriental, Paris for two years before joining Mandarin Oriental, Geneva. His past experiences include various famous Michelin-starred restaurants and hotels, such as Le Pré Catelan and Hotel Lutetia in Paris.
With its relaxing yet elegant atmosphere, the river-fronted Café Calla will feature 120 seats, including a 10-seat Chef’s Table and a 34-seat outdoor Parisian terrace, complemented by a walk-in 1'500-bottle wine cellar. A cheese glass dome will be available for dinner only and guests will enjoy live cooking stands and a seasonal buffet during the restaurant’s Sunday Brunch.
