“The mood of haute couture tranquillity extends to the pool area, with its flickering floral projections, as well as to the seven treatment rooms (three of which are designed for couples).”

Vanityfair.com, January 6, 2012

“The Mandarin Oriental Paris Spa has developed beauty treatments and has enlisted the famous brand Guerlain to offer exceptional facial treatments a true sensory pleasure, synonymous of the effectiveness and refinement of chic beauty a la française which is in high demand among international clients.”

Emotion Spa Magazine, n°28 , Hiver/ Winter 2011

“This hotel wins on location, neatly placed between the Costes and Colette, and has a brilliant chef, Thierry Marx. His gastronomic restaurant, Sur Mesure, is the hottest in town.”

The Daily Telegraph, 13 August 2011

“It’s slick, this hotel, with vast shiny floors and a total ta-dah of an entrance: it feels contemporary and clean”

Tatler, November 2011

“Even the new Mandarin Oriental Paris, slap bang on Rue Saint-Honoré, is a haven of peace once you have passed through its wide hallway. A large courtyard with trees and scrubs, tables and chairs and patio heaters cuts out the sound of the city and the Camelia and gourmet Sur Mesure restaurants offer delightful dishes in a relaxed setting. This is top end accommodation …”

The Times, 30 November 2011

“The Mandarin Oriental ticks the big box: location. Its restored art-deco façade shimmers on the fashionable Rue Saint-Honoré within easy reach of the Opera Garnier, the Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens,. Inside, the modern Asian vibe is established by an intimate oriental garden. Locals should love the bar, with its dramatic marble counter and Lalique crystals inlaid in the curving wooden walls… The bedrooms are an understated blend of art deco and oriental – and, golly, the spa is sumptuous. Marks out of 10: Based on a pre-launch tour, I’d expect it to come in at a 9”

The Sunday Times, 17 July 2011

On a fashionable stretch of Rue St.-Honore, between Place Vendome and the Tuileries, a magic carpet twinkling with fiber-optic lights transports guests from the crowded street to a leafy garden at the heart of a listed Art Deco building. This is the Mandarin Oriental, Paris, which – with 99 rooms and 39 suites—is as thoughtful and polished as one might expect of a five-star hotel with Asian roots.

Travel + Leisure

Situated on the magnificently luxurious rue Saint-Honore with the Louvre and Tuileries close by, the newly opened Mandarin Oriental, Paris is an enticing hub of excellence. Its Deco façade offers a playful contrast to contemporary Asian-inspired interiors through each of its 138 guest rooms and suites, and you can watch chefs prepare traditional French cuisine at a 10-seat viewing counter inside Thierry Marx’s Camelia restaurant.

Ocean Drive

Mandarin Oriental, Paris dazzles patrons with dramatic vaulted ceilings, luscious purple interiors, Swarvoski crystal walls and a haute butterfly garden motif. An adaptive re-use of the former Ministry of Justice annex, the Mandarin has maintained the building’s Art Deco exterior while employing three of France’s top exterior and interior aficionados…to lead a holistic design revolution representing a “new” and evolving Paris.

Jezebel

In French, the word hotel may be masculine, but the new Mandarin Oriental…pays homage to the eternal feminine. In the heart of the First Arrondissement, the property’s 99 rooms and 39 suites were designed by Sybille de Margerie as spacious yet intimate boudoirs, complete with Man Ray’s The Kiss rendered in crimson velvet on the walls and on the headboards.
