Take an exciting ride on the funicular railway 318m (1043 feet) to the top. At the peak, there is a playground for the youngsters, a popular Mirror Maze, Observatory and occasionally Pony Rides.

Hire a paddle boat on the Vltava and take a water side view of Charles Bridge. There are several places that hire out boats on Slovanksy island just next to Narodni Divadlo and several places along the downtown side of the river Vltava.

You can take a boat ride up the river for some sightseeing or directly to the zoo at 11am, 2pm and 5pm. Boats depart from: Rašínovo Nábřeží embankment between the Palackého and Jiráskův bridges.

If you arrive at the Prague zoo by boat, you can continue the fun travel experience with a short chair lift ride. The zoo itself is surprisingly quiet but relatively large for a city zoo. It is located near the Trója Chateau.

Situated in Prague Castle this collection of American and European toys is the second largest in the world. Whilst most of the fascinating displays are out of children’s reach, there is a floor with several buttons to push that activate some toys.

If you are looking for some fresh air and green space for the children to let off some energy, Divoka Sarka Park is a beautiful and expansive nature reserve. There are many trails. You can hire bicycles, rollerblades or take a plunge in the icy waters of the natural pool.

Situated in the Prague Castle area. Equipped with a magnifying glass or a microscope, your children can view such mind-expanding marvels as a caravan of camels in the eye of a needle, a portrait of the Anton Chekhov painted on one half of a poppy seed or a grasshopper playing a functional violin.

Accessible via a footbridge from Janáčkovo nábřeží, Children’s Island has everything a sporty youngster might desire: slides, a sandbox, swings and a carousel, monkey bars and a giant chessboard, as well as a roller-skating rink.

A range of classic car tours are available which can complete the fantasy experience for the children and also cover a lot more of the city than most little legs could cope with. Please ask our concierge to arrange a car to collect you from our hotel.

Literally two minutes from our hotel is the Kampa Park where kids can have a good run around. Within the park is the Kampa Museum which has many large art installations, all by Czech artists, which might capture the children’s imagination, but if you can’t tempt them in they will enjoy climbing over the Cerny baby sculptures just at the museum entrance.
