From spring to autumn you can enjoy boat cruises on the Vltava river, choosing among double-decked larger boats where food and drinks are served to small, elegant vintage vessels for no more than a dozen passengers; durations vary from 1 to 4 hours depending on the distance travelled. Our concierges will be happy to recommend and book the right cruise based on your preferences.
Tram lines run throughout the city. There are two tram stops just 1 minute from the hotel. From here, trams go either over the river toward The Old Town Square or toward Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle.
The funicular runs 318 metres up to the top of Petrin hill from where you can climb the observatory for a panoramic view of the city. The stop is in Malá Strana some 10 minutes from the hotel. The funicular runs daily from 9am to 11:30pm (11:20pm from November to March) at 10-15 minute intervals.
Carriages await customers in the Old Town Square, just by the Old Town City Hall and the Astronomical Clock. The carriages will take you through the streets of the Old City. Fares start at CZK 300 (EUR 11) per hour.
Prague Ruzyne International Airport is situated 17km west of the city centre, it is approximately a 30 minute journey.
The taxi journey will take around 30 minutes to reach central Prague. Taxis are located outside the terminals; please be sure to select a registered yellow taxi. Vans are also available. We recommend that you order your pick-up in advance; our concierge will gladly make your arrangements.
If you plan to rent a car it is generally better to book your car in advance rather than on arrival. You should save approximately 20% on the charge. Our concierge will be delighted to make any necessary arrangements for you.
You must be over 18 to drive, and you must carry your driving licence, a vehicle registration card and an ownership certificate or rental agreement at all times. Foreign driving licenses are valid however New Zealand and Australian drivers should have an international driving licence. In the city, the speed limit is 50km/h, while outside urban areas, the speed limit is 90km/h and for highways 130km/h. It is compulsory to wear seatbelts in the front and back seats. Please note that the Czech Republic has a very stringent policy on alcohol consumption prior to driving.
Like most cities, it is difficult to park in the city centre. You should only use the designated parking areas with pay and display tickets; otherwise you will receive a fine or have your car towed away. Whilst parking is available at the hotel‘s parking garage for the fee of CZK 990 per day, it is difficult to park in the city centre.
