Meet the Chef

Executive Chef Adam Mali

Born and raised in New York, Executive Chef Adam Mali began his career on the East Coast, where worked in both New York City and Massachusetts’ bucolic Berkshires. In 2001, he moved to San Francisco where he worked at the renowned restaurants Gary Danko and Delfina. Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco, Mali served as Executive Chef at Nick’s Cove in Tomales Bay, California.

Most recently named “One of Five Chefs in the Future to Watch” by Esquire Magazine, Chef Mali was honoured by the James Beard Foundation in 2005 as a “Great Regional Chef in America.” He also attended Le Cordon Bleu Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona and has gained qualifications as a first level sommelier and fully certified Alpine ski instructor.
