Language

Mandarin is the official language, although many Chinese dialects are spoken in Sanya. English is spoken predominantly in five-star chain hotels and some shops.

Currency

The local currency is the Chinese Yuan (CNY) and is available in the following denominations: 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 yuan, 2 yuan, 5 yuan, 10 yuan, 20 yuan, 50 yuan, and 100.yuan Money can be exchanged at banks or hotels; exchange rates may vary and additional charges apply. Traveler’s checks are generally not accepted and major credit cards are accepted in hotels.

ATM machine

An Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) is available in the Shopping Arcade for your convenience. Both local and overseas major credit cards are accepted.

Electrical Standard

Local voltage is 220 volts AC. Transformers and adaptors for most international plugs are available at the resort.

Local Facilities

By car, Jiefang Road, in Sanya’s downtown area, is approximately 15 minutes from the resort.

Shopping

Most shopping malls and the city’s main promenade are located in the downtown area of Jiefang Road, which is about 15 minutes by car from the hotel. The Dadong Sea area is a 5-minute drive from the resort.

Medical

The nearest hospital is the Sanya People’s Hospital, located about 10km or a 15-minute drive from the resort. On-call doctors are available in Sanya.

Banking

There are several banks located in the Dadonghai Bay area, each with ATM facilities. Major international credit cards are accepted at these ATMs for convenience.
