The end of summer is a time to refresh and reinvigorate, be it with a new wardrobe, a luxury facial or the latest bestseller

Call me foolish but I love September. There are no post-holiday blues for me. With a return to fresher weather after the hot and sticky summer months, it’s almost like an exfoliation – a time of new beginnings and, if you’re like me, the start of a mid-year diary. It is, I believe, your chance to enter September with zero regrets, wipe the slate clean, begin again, commit to new resolutions, and start the rest of the year as you mean to go on.

It would seem that the world is in agreement. September sees the start of the biannual prêt-a-porter shows, and soon we will be bombarded with fabulous images of the new season’s collections. Meanwhile, Mandarin Oriental has its own newborns, with the opening of the glorious Mandarin Oriental, Milan (dine al fresco in its Seta restaurant, pictured above) and the resort of Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, whose setting among landscaped gardens and olive groves isn’t short of idyllic. As for me, I get a fresh new face, thanks to Linda Meredith’s Haute Couture and Revive Oxygen facials at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London.

This month is also awash with new blockbuster films, exciting exhibitions and book launches to reinvigorate heart and mind. What could be better? A new spirit, a new start, a new September.
