The Portuguese Egg Tart Journey

Inspired by the classic Portuguese Egg Tart – known as Pastel del Nata - the Portuguese Egg Tart was introduced to the city by Englishmen Andrew Stow in 1989 when he added cream to his custard mixture. The result? A creamier, milkier, and much denser sweet treat that soon become a staple of the local food scene. In this experience, you’ll visit the original workshop at Lord Stow’s Bakery and hear all about this icon of Macau from a member of the Stow family.
