Definitely a more mindful experience than downing coffee on your morning commute.

Join the locals here on Tuesday and Thursday evenings; you can ask your concierge to help you check if they’re on. Explore the collection of Miami’s flagship art institution, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). It showcases international modern and contemporary art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Check out the latest exhibition – past examples include Chinese painter Zhao Gang – or tour the permanent collection, which includes a contemporary sculpture garden.

Knaus Berry Farm is a local favourite in Miami, where, depending on the season and your own idea of ‘wellbeing’ when it comes to diet, you can pick your own strawberries or feast on fresh pastries. It can be closed for long periods of the year, which is all part of the appeal, so be sure to check that it's open before you plan your visit.

When cycling the 15 miles of off-road trails or paddling through lush mangrove forests, it is difficult to believe Oleta River State Park exists here in the shadow of downtown Miami. Florida’s largest urban park (at just over 1,000 acres) also draws anglers, swimmers and families who want to enjoy a picnic along the scenic Biscayne Bay.
