A leisurely weekend brunch is one of the greatest pleasures in life, whether it’s bloody Mary-paired eggs Benedict, or a three-course feast with free-flowing fizz. Here’s our pick of five of the best brunches at Mandarin Oriental hotels around the world.

Sample a croffle at Camélia

The most splendid Sunday brunches in Paris can be found at Camélia, masterminded by chef Thierry Marx. It’s a three-course feast, best paired with a glass of champagne, spanning pâtisserie, epic cheeses, and all manner of mains, from impeccable eggs Benedict to praline-laced, fruit-topped crêpes. This is also the place to get better acquainted with the croffle – an audacious croissant-waffle hybrid. Here, they’re slathered in salted caramel or given a savoury spin, with avocado, bacon and a perfectly-poached egg.

Take a culinary journey at Lord Jim’s

Come the weekend at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, the buffet at Lord Jim’s makes for the ultimate brunch. It’s a continent-hopping spread like no other, with dishes cooked to order at stations around the dining room. Your options might run from truffled hot dogs to lobster-bisque cappuccinos, via note-perfect Thai specialities (don’t miss the blue-swimmer crab curry, if it’s on the menu).

Try exploding olives at Tasca

Superstar Portuguese chef José Avillez has brought the Mediterranean to Dubai at Michelin-starred Tasca Brunch is served on Saturdays, when the best seats in the house are on the terrace, overlooking the Arabian Gulf. It’s a masterclass in regional Portuguese cuisine, from piri-piri chicken to expertly-cooked octopus – not to mention the chef’s famed exploding olives. And to finish? A custard-filled, flaking pastel de nata, and sour cherry-liqueur chaser.

Quaff a cocktail or two in Hong Kong

There’s a cool, late-night vibe to the late-morning offering at The Landmark’s hip MO Bar, whose decadent, DJ-soundtracked weekend brunches include free-flowing champagne and cocktails. Keep it classic with a bloody Mary or reviving espresso martini, or try a more modern concoction – a MO Rickey, perhaps, laced with chamomile, cucumber and lemon. The seasonally-changing menu, meanwhile, is deliciously decadent, running from flat iron steaks and Boston lobster to dashi butter-dressed salmon.

Feast on dim sum at Cherry Garden

Weekend brunches at Cherry Garden, at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore are all about dim sum. There’s a show-stopping line-up to choose from, each more delicious than the last, from truffle-dotted steamed crystal dumplings to juicy pork xiao long bao. Other must-try plates include five-spice beef fillet and crispy wasabi-aioli prawns, while desserts include black-bean pudding and exquisite sorbets and jellies.
