Chef Vineet Bhatia

Born in Mumbai, Vineet Bhatia is one of the world’s most successful Indian chefs. Having studied both catering and economics, Bhatia began his career at the Oberoi hotel group in 1988, after which he moved to London to work at the famous Star of India restaurant in South Kensington.

In 1999, Vineet opened Vineet Bhatia – Hammersmith to rave reviews. That same year he helped launch Zaika, also in London. The restaurant went on to win a Michelin star, the first ever for an Indian chef-restaurateur.

In 2004, Vineet opened Rasoi in the heart of London’s Chelsea. Vineet has since opened award-winning restaurants around the world including Rasoi by Vineet at the Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, which was awarded its first Michelin star in 2009.

Chef de Cuisine Baskar Chakravarthy

Born in the Tamil Nadu region of India, Baskar Chakravarthy joined ‘Rasoi by Vineet’ as Head Chef in January 2016. After studying Hotel Management, Baskar started his career with the TAJ Hotel Group in Bangalore, where he developed his culinary skills. In 2008, he participated in the opening of ‘Rasoi by Vineet’ in Geneva and then was part of the pre-opening team of MOzen Bistro at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas, where he gained several years valuable experience as a Sous Chef.

His career brought him back to Geneva and to ‘Rasoi by Vineet’ in 2011 where he worked closely with Vineet Bhatia and his team as Sous Chef, before heading to Dubai to take over the renowned ‘Ashiana by Vineet’ at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel and Towers, as Chef de Cuisine for almost two years.
