Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London Fire - Latest Update

Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is temporarily closed, following the unfortunate fire that broke out on 6 June 2018. While it is too early to state when we will reopen, initial assessments have shown that the fire damage has mainly been confined to the exterior courtyard area of the hotel with limited impact on the interiors.

We would like to express our thanks to the emergency services for their swift response, as well as our appreciation to everyone who has conveyed their concern about this unfortunate incident.

We look forward to re-opening as soon as possible and will provide updates on a regular basis.

What happened?
We can confirm that a fire broke out in the hotel on 6 June causing damage mainly to the exterior courtyard. The emergency services were immediately called and the situation was contained. Mandarin Oriental employs stringent fire, life, health and safety precautions and as ever, the safety and comfort of guests and colleagues is our top priority.

 

Are all guests and colleagues safe?
Yes, we are delighted to report that all guests and colleagues are safe and accounted for.

 

I have a forthcoming accommodation reservation at the hotel - what shall I do ?

We recommend you find alternative accommodation at this time, until we have greater clarity on when the hotel will re-open. There will be no cancellation fees incurred.

 

Will you help me in finding alternative accommodation? 

I am afraid that we are unable to do so, however we have been in touch with some of the other five-star hotels in the area and we know that at present the following do have availability: Four Seasons Park Lane, The Berkeley, Claridge's, The Connaught, Bulgari London, Dorchester Hotel, 45 Park Lane, The Lanesborough, Park Tower Knightsbridge, Jumeirah Carlton Tower and The Ritz Hotel, London.
