Mandarin Oriental, Prague

Mandarin Oriental, Prague is housed in a former Dominican monastery with roots dating back to the 14th century. Lying on the left bank of the Vltava River, amidst the palaces and gardens of picturesque Lesser Town, the hotel is a synonym for an urban hideaway. Its location at the very heart of the historic city centre, a walking distance from all major sights of Prague, makes it the perfect starting point to explore the city. Its 99 rooms and suites exude a sense of elegance and offer an enticing blend of historic character and contemporary design.

The hotel’s buildings comprise eight centuries’ worth of architecture. Discoveries made during the site’s reconstruction include remnants of a 14th-century Gothic church as well as over 250,000 individual objects, some of which are displayed throughout the hotel.

The Spa is the only one in the world located in a former Renaissance chapel; it is connected to the rest of the hotel by an underground passage.

The hotel’s signature fan was designed by Jarmila Mucha Plockova, granddaughter of renowned Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha. Its central motif, a peacock, is inspired by traditional Czech folk art.

Once a Dominican monastery, the hotel’s interiors include original monks’ cells, Renaissance-era kitchens, a Baroque refectory and a cloister corridor with vaulted ceilings resting atop Baroque columns.

The luxurious Moser Crystal Suite is dedicated to showcasing the finest in Bohemian crystal manufactured by Moser, the Czech Republic’s premier luxury crystal maker, and letting guests experience the distinctive sparkle and ageless beauty of Bohemian crystal.
